About Us
Celeste Shankland is the founder and principal lawyer of Landed Law.
Celeste is a lawyer with experience in a wide range of refugee and immigration legal issues, who assists clients in all aspects of their journey to landing in Canada and with issues relating to their status. She regularly represents clients before all levels of the Immigration and Refugee Board and at the Federal Court of Canada. She also assists individuals and families with applications to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), including sponsorships, humanitarian and compassionate applications, pre-removal risk assessments, and more. Celeste speaks French, and works closely with law clerks, interpreters, and translators from around the world to provide services in many languages.
Celeste holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from Concordia University in Montreal; bachelor’s degrees in civil law (BCL) and in common law (LLB) from McGill University, where she graduated with the highest standing in Human Rights Law throughout the program; and a post-graduate certificate in Refugee and Forced Migration Issues from York University in Toronto.
Celeste was called to the Ontario bar in 2012 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario; the Legal Aid Ontario Refugee and Immigration general and appellate panels; the Refugee Lawyer’s Association of Ontario (RLA); and the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers (CARL).

Please do not park directly in front of 41 Madison Avenue, as this is reserved parking.
